VL12 discontinued?

They have huge center deadzones (though I assume the reset/zero LED at least turns on when manually in it) and a sizable deadzone at the bottom of the pitch fader. And the hifi GR, limited edition audiophile GAE, and mass production audiophile G apparently all have this issue, and then you add the non-DJ DSP motor controller that prevents you from predictably dragging & nudging on the platter itself like you can on the VL12 and mk7.

If you’re going to drag & nudge on the record itself or just ride the pitch fader and want an awesome tonearm, I’d rather get a Hanpin and put a Rega or SME tonearm on it. It’d still probably come out cheaper. The W&F probably wouldn’t be quite as good as the new Technics, unless you got a DSP-controlled new model Reloop, but it’s not as if the W&F of a 1200mk2 modified to mix on (which the VL12 and mk7’s motors are tuned to be like) had that great of W&F after reducing its torque.

The 2022 iteration of the MK7’s seems to have improvements. Since the Red Bull limited versions supposedly.

Wow, they finally fixed it… interestingly without admitting anything was originally wrong… hah hah.

Ok, so what’s InMusic’s excuse for not fixing the VL12’s design issues and continuing with an update?

Maybe they’re working on the hybrid unit instead…
