Hi DJ’s I am starting out in the DJ world and just ordered the Prime 4. Since I’m just starting out and have over 15k of songs, I’m wondering if I should use playlists or crates. I’ll mostly be doing Birthday’s, weddings so need to understand what I should be using and what are the differences. Thanks
Crates are like the old vinyl or cd boxes with everything in it. Sorted by genre, date etc.
Playlists contain the tracks you would play after sorting out what you would want to play at a given night, event. Like making a stack of vinyl (you would take those partly out of your crate).
Also, playlists can contain doubles, crates can not. And, you can sort playlists in a self chosen order. Crates can only be sorted like reese stated.
