I don’t have my PRIME unit yet, so I thought someone here might help. Let’s say I install a drive (SSD) and then I prepare a flash drive with a small playlist. If I want to switch from one source to another, do I have to do it between songs… or does the PRIME have a buffer or something to finish the one song before playing the next song from the second source? I hope that makes sense.

You can without any problem switch between internal (ssd) and external sources (flashdrive), and even Tidal too.
The unit buffers the full track when it loads the track, so you get plenty of time to find the next track you want to play.
