so it looks like it could be DirectX issue but im completely up to date
What other solutions are avialable? I could make an installer wrapper if i knew what the issue was being caused from but this particular issue just says its an install error and that could be anything…
Any good responses much appreciated
Thanks
Nacho
update
, i was able to install V1.5 legacy. After that install i tried to install V1.6.1 but it gave me the same errors so im thinking its a permission issue either in the folder its being installed into or in the registry? As a programmer myself, i know that based on permissions, the registry locations differ based on permissions and folders can throw errors if they are not public.
There are enough people with the same error, hopefully Denon will get their finger out and fix the problem…
FWIW. No issue here on multiple Windows10 machines (workstations, game-rig, notebook). Engine Prime 1.6.x even installs and works on Windows11 insider preview…
@NachoShaw Maybe some visual C++ problems? Try to uninstall Visual C++ 2013, rebooting, and installing EP again.
I have installed engine on many diferent laptops and desktops and never had any problems. Being very active on foruns, I don’t see many users having trouble installing engine.
i did also think it was a VC issue so had uninstalled 2013 but it didnt make a difference. I have tried installing V1.5.1 but that didnt work so i’ll went down the versions and right back to V1.2, it doesnt install?
with the install paused, i cannot find the referenced folder in Package Cache which i guess would make sense for the install to fail if the folder didnt exist. unfortunately the folder name is generated each time so i couldnt pre-populate it…
My dxdiag didnt show any issues, only the fact that i had DirectX 12 installed…
update
well… success.
i uninstalled and custom reinstalled my graphic card drivers seeing as it looked like a DirectX issue.
Hopefully that helps someone else with the same install issues
