Hi.

Is it possible to deactivate the internal mixing of the unit so that it only outputs midi and the mix is done completely in software?

If not, what’s the point of the midi sent by ie the volume faders and eq knobs? The audio would be processed twice, once in software and then in the mixer.

Not necessarily. You can use it for midi only, and not use it as your main soundcard, using a different sound card for audio output; You can route audio output from your internal mixing software to a single channel, and use the other 3 channels only for midi/sw control; With creative mapping/audio routing you can do a lot of stuff.

Options are endless.
