[UNDER REVIEW] Track Length Bug for Mp3 Files

  • Software or Firmware Version: (1.2, 1.3.1, etc…) Engine Prime 1.3.2

  • Steps to Reproduce: (Turn on unit, press button X, etc…)

  1. Launch EP

  2. Drag Mp3 files to Engine Prime from desktop or a folder

  • Expected Result: (ex: It does X…)

True track length should show

Same track converted to AIFF, ALAC, WAV, AAC shows true track length

  • Actual Result: (ex: It does Y…)

MP3s shows a short track length in secs

  • Reproducibility: (ex: Happens 1 out of 10 times.)

Re-import track information does not work

Were the mp3 variable bit rate?

Does this happen for all tracks dragged from a folder into Engine Prime?

my normal EP library is via the Serato Update. I didn’t notice the abnormal length in my main library. But then I have probably analyzed my entire library at some point.

I was trying to troubleshoot something else with some test tracks in a folder on my desktop.

Made various copies of a song in different formats and I noticed that the MP3s dis not have the correct time length

But I will download a few tracks straight to my desktop now and test again.

Anyways it doesn’t affect performance!
