With the latest (1.9.10) version of Serato, you can use the Denon DJ SC5000 in Serato Controller Mode: See more here: -

Please note: It is possible to use the Prime/Serato Controller Mode in (up to) a 3-player set-up, without the need for an external powered USB hub – by using one SC5000 as a ‘powered USB hub’ and daisy-chaining. Please follow these connections guidelines and note the highlight on use of a USB 3.0 Cable - Daisy chaining setup examples below:

2 DECKS (SC5000 1 used as powered hub)

SC5000 1 to PC/Mac via USB 3.0 Cable X1800 to PC/Mac via USB 2.0 Cable SC5000 2 to SC5000 1 USB 2/3 via USB 3.0 Cable

3 DECKS (SC5000 1 used as powered hub)

How many of you have tried wiring things up this way, effectively removing the need for a powered USB Hub ?

Tried it for the sake of trying it. Works like a charm and as stated early, this is a very crucial function that should be highlighted as a selling point since it’s once less thing users have to worry about.

You can even release a quick tip video tutorial for it in YouTube or an official how to connect to Serato video tutorial.
