Totally new to the media player game as I’ve been on 1210s for the past 25 years… just bought sc6000s with 1850 mixer. Is there anyway to sample a loop from the end of a track then move it to an earlier stage in the track and save it there, can this be done on engine dj software at all?

You can’t do this with Engine DJ, but you can do this with other software. You can use your DAW, or you can use freeware Audacity.
You could also use instant doubles and your hotcues. I.e. sample your loop, use instant double to load the loop onto the second layer, then use hotcue to jump back to earlier in the song and either use your loop as a backing track or cut out the 2nd layer if you’re done with it.
As above really. I use insta doubles quite a bit on shorter tracks with good beats and vocals. It’s a nice way to draw out some tracks. Admittedly I have 4 players so nice and easy to control, but dual layers make this easy enough anyways.
