As someone who has received demo units of products (for generating presets), I can tell you that those demo units often come with well written disclaimers about what is being worked on.
Yes the demo units reciewers are being told that they are not for live use
I guess until someone gets to a point in their career, or other recognised pro-standing in media or e-media, theyāll never really appreciate the guidelines which are often set out for those who review a prototype or beta version of a device
Received an email from my dealer on 25th April saying limited stock arrived but already allocated. They expect next deliveries weekly but quanity is so low I could be 1st week June! I paid my deposit on 24th January only a week after it was anounced!! I am sure Denon are ramping up production but I couldnāt wait any longer.
So I bought an X1800 and another SC5000. Better sound quality. Need an all in one case. Any recomnendations?
And that is the centre of it. Some people will simply have a go at denon on a daily basis just for the sake of having an axe to grind daily daily daily like the broken record. Any topic will do, any topic hijacked.
And yet, other dj gear companies make far larger, louder āhypeā and take far longer to turn the hype to a purchasable product.

People shouldnāt review products that they canāt be thorough on or honestly evaluate, especially when theyāre making advertising money.
I preordered my Prime 4 on 30. January with scheduled ship dates of March. Since then ship dates have been rolled back several timesā¦ Now ship dates are supposedly scheduled for sometime in May 2019ā¦ 4 months is an awfully long time to have paid in full for an item and not to receive itā¦
What makes it worse and ā ā ā ā ā ā me off is that Denon is continually posting videos on their YouTube channel of DJās (latest video is Chris Armada) out and about using the Prime 4. If these shipping delays are due to firmware upgrades, why are these knuckleheads out using the Prime 4ā¦
The firmware excuse is ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā . If that were true Denon could have shipped the product and let everyone DL the firmware themselvesā¦ very frustrating, especially with all the DJās out using the Prime 4 while the rest of us sit here empty-handedā¦
Itās anoying. You are right. In the Netherlands the ETA is in 9 weeks. Thatās end of june! Hope that aināt true tho.
Your order just went up ā¬2 because of the swear jar
I just bought a new house. We were told last spring that itād be ready to move into last September but it was only finished 2 weeks ago. And that was the cost of about 400 x Prime 4s
Jusā coz it aināt VDJ donāt make it wrong initā¦
Do you think it maybe that they are adding features they didnāt or were planning to have such as switching the waveforms? Just a guess why it maybe taking longer.
I think youāre right!
And some of the things they add may need to be tested to work not only on the Prime 4, but also on all Prime 4ās siblings, like the 5000m and SC5000 and Engine Prime.
We all(?) also know that Engine Prime is likely to be on the receiving end of some major love and brainstorming coding thanks to the New Zealand software offices and staff being all in one place as a single positive collective.
Im going to take a guess and say nothing is going to change on the firmware as i dont belive they are changing anything. The store i pre ordered mine for i was there at the weekend and speaking to the owner they are behind because they aint made enough units because they didnt expect as many sales as they have got.
Being advanced as it as and the only 1 on the market and not thinking it would be big after all the hype they gave it is amusing.
Hope it is a firmware update to switch the waveform though
And which one of you is schizophrenic ?
Itās ok to make bad guesses. Theyāre free.

Do you realy think Denon is making changes at this moment??? My guess is they have a bunch of prime4 hardware wich is produced with crappy unstable firmware. And now theyāre fixing the ā ā ā ā out of it to get it reasonably stable at launch date (whenever that may be). And after launch they make a bunch of fixed wich can be updated by the users.
@denon: when iām right please send me a p4. I desserve it for being psychic
my guess is the units are ready but each one needs to have the firmware loaded onto it, which they are doing.
What it sounds like to me is that Denon continues to over-promise and under-deliver when it comes to product announcements and releases. MCX8000 users are still waiting for promised features (i.e. Stagelinq) to work 3 YEARS after itās launch and weāre still waiting for fixes to Engine Prime (improved BPM analyzation, etc.).
I own equipment from some of the other players in the DJ/sound industry and havenāt had or seen a fraction of the frustrations that Iāve witnessed in the Denon Forums.
I really do wish this was different as I like Denonās push for innovation. I think Denon is blowing Pioneer away when it comes to features but is failing miserably when it comes to the software/firmware side of making everything work as promised.
