I used my new MC6000mk2 for 1st time at weekend (Win10 Vdj 8.2)and found that the gain controls made very little difference making it harder to control volume. Surely turning gain controls right down should kill all gain?
The gains won’t kill - the gains make lower signals higher and higher signals lower but not to silence.
Surely they should. They hardly make any difference at all.
if you play DJ Software into a channel and use the gains, do you get different results if you run a real audio source into the inputs of the MC6000 and use the gains?
I’d be checking your mapping for that. If it’s mapped correctly the mapped control will affect whatever the software’s been ‘told’ to do. The hardware gain should reflect the VDJ gain, unless you or the mapping creator (maybe inadvertently) specify otherwise,
