Distortion while in automix VDJ

Has happened a couple of times to me. Channel 2 goes into distortion when on Virtual DJ Atomix. It lasts maybe 2 minutes, then subsides. I can switch over to channel 3 and distortion disappears.

Thoughts on what exactly is happening and what to do to have this stop would be greatly appreciated.

Does the same thing happen if you plug a CD deck or other standaloneuaic source into channel two and Leland that playing?

If yes, it could be a faulty connection within the fader, if no, it could be something related to the laptop temperature, settings, latency etc
