Computer does not recognise SSD

Hi I’m new to the Prime 4 and have a problem with formatting my SSD. I’ve searched the forum but couldn’t find a solution so here I go:

I have followed all instructions, installed a new Samsung 860 EVO SSD in the unit, linked the USB B port of the Prime 4 with the blue cable to my computer. But when I power on and switch the unit to computer mode, my labtop does not recognise the Prime 4 and I cannot format the SSD as required.

The same problem occured with a second computer, and using different USB ports on the computer did not help. I do get a beeb on the computer when I connect, and the Prime 4 is also somehow connected, since it lists the Prime 4 as speakers of the labtop. Also, if I insert a USB stick on the top of the Prime 4, I can see that stick on my labtop.

Previously I have updated the firmware of the Prime 4 without difficulty.

Any help would be very much appreciated!

To format a disk to exFAT just right click on the volume and choose Format… and go to the last step.
