Analyze or Reanalyze?

I have read the manual and still cannot understand which should I use and when.

Can someone break that down for me? Much appreciated.

Analyse = Quick analysis, retains bpm values that may be in the file from another software

Reanalyse = disregards stored value and recalculates everything

Bonus

  1. Reanalyse calculates everything on a second pass

Test this

Make a copy of one of your files, load it to serato or any other software that can change bpm, type in a wrong BPM value

Save and exit

Load track into Engine and click analyse, you will notice the wrong bpm value is retained

Now click reanalyse on the same file again - correct BPM will show up

Will it reanalyse the Key?

I dont know.

You can make a copy of one of your tracks to test

I will try this today. Also, I also read that you have beat grids copied from say Serato, the only way to edit them is to Reanalyze the track, which it would be nice if they were converted as they were copied.

Correct. It keeps the beatgrid from Serato and BPM
