"Add / Delete Cue" option in "Waveform Display" window

  • What is the feature or ability you would like to have?

Right click on waveform display window brings up a menu with the following options: “Add Cue” and *“Delete Cue”**. Afterwards, right click on “Cue” point brings up a menu where the name, color, and exact time position at millisecond level can be specified / edited.

  • How will this feature help you and others?

Improve waveform window navigation, cue points adding and editing, with increased accuracy.

  • Is this feature available in an existing product? If so, what product?

Sound Forge, Adobe Audition, etc.

  • Does a workaround currently exist?

Only the way in works right now in Engine Prime.

  • How often would you use this feature?

Whenever editing cue points are necessary.

  • Is there any additional information you’d like to add?

None at this moment.

How would you know what millisecond in a track you wanted to jump to?

Read my previous feature request rearding improved Time Display window.

No one would sit there thinking ok I’d like to jump to 2 minutes 53 seconds and 32 milliseconds

And no one would know that the first beat after the instrumental filler is at 1 minute 15 seconds and 51 milliseconds though ?

This sounds very very niche and, if programmed to software Engine probably not used by few if anyone else

Actually, after you know where you would like to place your cue point, you can engage a high zoom level on the waveform display window, identify exactly where your cue (beat or instrument) should be and specify it with great accuracy, having the option to move its start point a little forward or backward with millisecond accuracy.

But all that would be visually or by audio rather than let’s add a point at 3 minutes 27 seconds and 183ms. In fact you even mention above about zooming in to the waveform, meaning you’re placing the point visually rather than by milliseconds. Which we can do anyway. Maybe you want higher or further in zoom instead of milliseconds dial in

Sorry, maybe this is amazing feature but it’s just not being sold well, or a amazing real world example is missing, but so far, it’s not something voteable for, as described imo

By putting the high level waveform zoom to work, it is possible to identify exactly where a downbeat or an instrument actually starts and to cue it with extreme accuracy, without the need to move the playhead forward and backward to hear the downbeat. This high accuracy will help the loops very much.
